Most of my artwork is acrylic on canvas. When I paint I never know what I will end up with. I started painting in 2008 more for therapy for my hand and mind. I have found it to be very helpful. In 2007 I was diagnosed with RSD, (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy). If I pamper my dominant left hand because of the pain and tremors I will loose function of it. That being said I think painting/drawing is a great way to work through it.
Update: As time has passed I am finding it harder to paint because of not being able to hold my arm up and hold the brush so I have been doing more drawing. Because I don't use rulers and all my drawings are free-hand my lines are not so straight anymore. I still look forward to sharing my art with you. I look at this in a positive way and perhaps my art will take on new meaning. I will continue to paint but they take a while. I'm trying to learn to paint with my right hand, funny how the brain works, it gets confused and doesn't allow my good hand to make the free-flowing movements as my left. I will still include photography.
